Our Story
Driven by these values, Ophelia earned a minor in sociology from the University of SC and pursued a career in health and human services, gaining valuable insights into the needs of individuals with disabilities. It became increasingly clear that there was a significant gap in the market for a transportation service that combined reliability, compassion, and accessibility.
In 2023, Ophelia decided to take action and founded Good Karma NC, an agency devoted to serving people. In 2024, she launched a non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) business dedicated to providing “Good Rides Only.” The name reflects not only the quality of service but also the positive impact the company aims to have on the community.
Starting with just a single accessible vehicle and a small team of dedicated staff, Good Karma NC quickly earned a reputation for its exceptional service and commitment to its clients. Ophelia ensures that every driver and employee is trained in empathy and sensitivity, echoing the compassion she had learned from her parent.
Good Karma NC’s fleet grew to include eco-friendly vehicles, emphasizing the company’s commitment to sustainability. Partnerships with local hospitals, senior centers, and disability organizations helped expand the reach of the service, making it a trusted name in the community.
Today, Good Karma NC stands as a testament to the power of personal experience and the impact of a mission-driven business. Every ride we provide is a step towards a more inclusive, empowered, and safe community for individuals with mobility challenges.
Ophelia’s journey from a concerned family member to a community leader continues to inspire our team to deliver the best possible service, honoring the legacy of resilience and kindness that started it all.
